Due to the general user errors we encountered in the use of multimeters, we felt the need to provide a short technical information about the way of use.
-
1- Attach the black probe to the common end (COM)
-
- To measure the current, attach the red probe to the part marked 10a
-
- To measure the voltage, attach the red probe to the part marked V To measure the voltage
-
After setting the multimeter tap to the correct position, you can connect the probes parallel to the circuit and measure AC and DC voltages.
-
To measure current
-
(General user error) To measure current in the circuit, you need to connect the probes in series and have a load at the circuit output.
-
In this case, you can easily measure the DC current.
-
Since ammeters are connected in series to the circuit, their internal resistance is close to zero.
-
If you connect parallel to the circuit when measuring current
-
I=V/R (R=0 in the ideal multimeter), as you can see as a result, an infinite current will flow over the ammeter.
-
This will disrupt the current measurement system of the device.
